- Cossonus corticola Day (fig 24): The weevil most frequently
encountered in association with SPB galleries is C. corticola
(4.0-5.0 mm). When the insect is viewed laterally, the stubby snout
is the most representative feature. The body is black, cylindrical,
and elongate with a punctate and striated elytra. There is a deep groove
between and above the eyes.
